Accessibility

Milieu Miracle includes keyboard navigation, labeled controls, an hourly schedule list, document text, and typed signatures. These features are available without switching on a special screen-reader mode.

Optional read aloud

Open Accessibility to start the browser’s read-aloud controls. Speech starts only when you request it. You can choose an available voice and reading speed, pause, resume, or stop; closing the panel stops speech.

Read aloud speaks page text, while a full screen reader also provides control names, states, and interactive navigation. The reader uses only voices your browser identifies as local. If none is available, use your device’s screen reader. Voice availability and local processing are reported by your browser and depend on your device. Check your device and speech provider settings before using speech with private information, and use headphones when others could hear.

Make a reservation with a keyboard or screen reader

1. Choose a facility, then a date. Date buttons announce the complete date and their selected state.
2. Use the Hourly list shortcut to read each time and its availability, or Choose request times to use the labeled start and end controls. All schedule times are Eastern. The booking area explains when a request cannot proceed.
3. Choose Prepare reservation and complete the fields. If the form finds an issue, its message includes a button to return to the affected field.
4. Complete and review the forms in the same flow. Bill Deputy and Janice Winn pavilions use the official City PDF. Miracle Field Pavilion, Softball Field, and general Miracle Field use have Milieu Miracle request PDFs. Each provides keyboard-accessible fields directly on the document. Each page’s text is available to screen readers alongside the PDF. Use the page arrows to review every page, or open Use larger fields for full-size controls. Choose Sign document, type the signer’s name, and confirm the signature consent. Drawing a signature is optional. The saved packet includes the signature record.
5. Continue to checkout and save the plain-text receipt and private code. Choose the $2 PDF download for printing on your own printer, choose paid printing and mailing with an optional check, or select email application and mail check. The email option uses the application reference shown at checkout to connect the emailed PDF and mailed check. A paid postal order includes completed-PDF access. Use My request to return to checkout or access a purchased PDF. Saving a packet does not email it to an operator or approve your reservation.

Keyboard navigation and display settings

• Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. Use arrow keys within a select menu or tab group.
• Use the Skip to content link to move past navigation.
• Press Escape or use Close to leave a dialog. Focus returns to its opening control.
• Use your browser’s zoom and your preferred screen reader. Your operating system’s reduced-motion and forced-color settings are respected.

Open the circular Accessibility button at the bottom right, or use Accessibility in the footer. Settings include text size up to 200%, light or dark high contrast, readable fonts, text spacing, underlined links, stronger focus, reduced motion, a larger pointer, and a reading guide.

Turn off all adjustments restores the site defaults. You can hide the floating button and reopen settings from the footer. Settings are kept in this browser and are not used to infer a disability. Basic keyboard and screen-reader access remain available with all adjustments off.

Documents and outside services

External calendars, original City and League forms, maps, and downloaded PDFs may have separate accessibility limitations. The form view provides extracted text from the PDF, labeled fields, and a typed-signature option. Extraction may not preserve tables or reading order, and some documents may have no extractable text. Contact us for help if a form or its text is incomplete or difficult to use.

Report a barrier or request assistance

Email normainmilieu@gmail.com with the page address, the task you were trying to complete, what went wrong, and your preferred way to receive assistance. If useful, include your browser and assistive technology. Please do not send passwords, medical records, or your private request code.

Our technical target

WCAG 2.2 AA is our improvement target. The settings panel does not by itself establish accessibility or certify legal compliance. Complete workflows, documents, and third-party services require ongoing testing, including human review with assistive technology.
